Formerly (1977) the University Association for Emergency Medicine, merged with the Society of Teachers of Emergency Medicine in 1988. SAEM's mission is advancement of emergency care through education and research, advocacy and professional development in academic emergency medicine. Membership is open to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and those interested in academic emergency medicine. Membership: $665 (Faculty); $305 (Associate); $275 (Young Physician); $180 (Resident/Fellow); $260 (Active Duty Military); $25 (Medical Student); $605 (Faculty Groups); $160 (Residency Groups); $20 (Medical Student Groups); $100 (Emeritus).
