National Collegiate Athletic Association

Officially constituted as Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the United States (IAAUS) in March 31, 1906, assumed its present name in1910. NCAA's purpose is to govern competition in a fair, safe, equitable and sportsmanlike manner, and to integrate intercollegiate athletics into higher education so that the educational experience of the student-athlete is paramount. Members are colleges, universities and related educational athletic organizations. Membership: $25,000 (Exploratory Member); $225 (Affiliates).
