Founded as National Association of Alcoholism Counselors and Trainers (NAACT), assumed its present name in 1982. NAADAC's mission is to lead, unify and empower addiction focused professionals to achieve excellence through education, advocacy, knowledge, standards of practice, ethics, professional development and research. Membership (dues vary from state to state): $85-160 (Professional); $64-139 (Associate Member/Peer Recovery Support Specialist); $32.50-$67.50 (Student/Retired); $85 (Active Military/International).
