Founded as Viatical Association of America; Later known as the Viatical and Life Settlement Association. Assumed its current name in 2008. The mission of the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) is to advance the highest standards of practice and professional development for the industry, and to educate consumers and advisors about a life settlement as an alternative to lapse or surrender of a life insurance policy. Membership fee: $8,500 (Law/Accounting Firm/General-Voting); $2,500 (Associate).
