Communicating the Value of your Advocacy
GR Program Internally & Externally

Does your organization know the value of your advocacy operations?  Do stakeholders understand the direct costs and results they’d feel from government initiatives on which you represent them?

And do the organization’s executives and employees understand that today’s partisan Congress makes your work even more valuable?

Here’s how to communicate all you do—and all it means—to both internal and external stakeholders.

Schar School of Policy and Government professor Dr. David Rehr is a long-time advocate for ensuring your advocacy work is both understood and appreciated. In this 90-minute webinar, Dr. Rehr and Mildred Webber present strategies for explaining how your efforts directly benefit the organization and its employees, executives and stakeholders.

Maintain strong buy-in.  You’ll learn how to communicate your advocacy success and struggles to keep both internal and external audiences engaged. You’ll also discover effective ways to translate the value of your work into real-world costs and results. Plus, you’ll have the chance to ask your own questions during the Q&A portion of the webinar.

Reserve your space now for expert guidance on communicating why your advocacy efforts matter, especially right now. You’ll learn:

  • How to determine the cost of federal legislation and regulation
  • How to communicate with people outside Washington to explain the costs/benefits of advocacy
  • How to use message repetition and break through today’s “information clutter”
  • How to translate the material you develop for Congress to
  • communicate value to internal and external parties
  • Examples of successful efforts to explain the worth of government relations and the increased need for GR representation
  • Defining legislative and regulatory issues so non-government officials within your company can understand the importance of government activity;
  • What kind of communications government relations staff should circulate to maximize government relations;
  • How to celebrate legislative and regulatory victories, and how to communicate them to stakeholders; among other issues,

Bottom line: You’re up against the belief that a partisan Congress means nothing gets done. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn strategies that continue to show the value—and urgency—of current advocacy efforts.
