Formed by a merger of the American Association for the Study of Allergy and the Association for the Study of Asthma and Related Conditions as the American Academy of Allergy; became the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology in 1982 and assumed its present name in 1982. AAAAI's mission is to advance the knowledge and practice of allergy, asthma and immunology for optimal patient care.
